Those first few hazy days and weeks after having your baby are a minefield to navigate, so here at MamaKind we wanted to take the guess work out of who/what/where and provide a comprehensive directory of contact details, for everything you may need, post birth. Remember we always have a monthly meet up with Mama Meets so if you're yet to join us, book into an event today!

  • Midwifery -

    After giving birth to your baby you have access to Maternity triage up until your baby is 28 days old.

  • Breast Feeding/Feeding Support

    Help and advice is available within the services provided by your Midwifery/Health Visiting team, however if you require more support you may want to consider joining a local breastfeeding support group, such as Kingsbridge Nurslings

    Here at MamaKind we recommend our local specialist Steph Pope who runs Nurslings, Wednesday mornings at Kingsbridge Family Church. 10- 11.30 ( just show up!)

Weighing Your Baby

One of the most important parts of caring for a newborn, is ensuring they are gaining weight! Head to your local library and check your baby's weight, on scales calibrated by the Health Visiting team.

  • Story Sense

    One of our favourite classes to go to within the South Hams, Story Sense covers everything for newborns to school age. Owner Nikita has cleverly combined stories with sensory play to bring unique, educational and fun weekly classes to both little ones and parents!

    It's the perfect place to meet other mums and dads as well.

    Learn to communicate with your baby before they can speak, at an award-winning TinyTalk baby signing class.

    Tiny talk invites newborns and toddlers to classes to learn to communicate with the use of gentle music and simple signing.

  • Mum & Baby Yoga - Kingsbridge

    Hosted by Sarah Scott 'Fresh Air Yogi' these classes are an excellent way of bonding with your baby, moving your body and making friends.

    Classes are held Mondays 11.15am-1215pm at Harbour House in Kingbsbridge.

  • Mini First Aid

    Learn life saving skills and risk prevention tools with Liz Watt. These sessions cover everything from choking to burns and provide you with all the information you need to keep you and your little one safe.

    We run these classes every few months at Mama Meets (depending on demand) but click below to find other sessions happening near you.

    1 hr workshop sessions combining storytelling, singing and big messy play art. Each session is highly interactive and brimming full of colours, sound, stimulation and an amazing opportunity for your child and you to get involved. A chance for you to catch up with friends whilst your child gets a burst of the arts. Expect lots of mess, giggles and storytelling from around the world.

    A family friendly, twinkly and welcoming cafe in the centre of Kingsbridge. Expect a warm welcome, lovely food and coffee, baby changing facilities and a basket of toys for the little ones (including a play kitchen!)
