Buggy run comprises running drills, short and long intervals, pyramids, speed work and agility so you can build your running fitness and confidence with your little one in tow. Regular breaks and options to increase or reduce challenges allow you to take things at your own pace so that you get the most out of each session.

Sessions run every Thursday morning, 9.30am. The location is Bushy Park, meeting at the small car park on Cobblers Walk, close to the Pheasantry, TW11 0EA. Buggy runners are invited to join us for a coffee at the Pheasantry following the session, where there are toilet facilities and an alternative place to park.

What to bring with you

You need to bring with you to each session;

  • a water bottle or other drink
  • a light carbohydrate snack
  • warm layers to put on after the session (including gloves & hats in colder weather

Sessions are constructed in such a way that you can complete them without pushing the buggy anywhere. However, if you wish to run with your little one you will need to bring a buggy suitable for running as described by the manufacturer and following the manufacturer’s guidelines for appropriate use – our recommendation is that the baby is 6 months old or can sit without support.

How to Join

It is essential that you complete a health screening questionnaire prior to your first session. This is to establish any contraindications to exercise and to ensure that any special considerations are known to the instructor when you arrive. Booking a trial session is easy. Simply send an email to sam.mamakind@gmail.com to request a free trial session. You will be sent a health questionnaire to complete and bring with you to the session (or return by email).
